Sweet Briar Cafe, holds a rich history in Ambler Borough stemming from 2011. Ambler locals, Chad and Kristen Reese presumed ownership of Sweet Briar Cafe in March of 2019 but there is much more to this vibrate cafe’s life.

Sweet Briar Farm was established in 1924 in Bedminster, Bucks County.  Sweet Briar farm belonged to the parents of the Jeanette (JT) Talese. and her husband, Frank, established Sweet Briar Cafe in 2011.  JT and Frank were Ambler locals and supporters, wonderful business owners and highly regarded and established in the community.  Frank proudly served as a Wissahickon Volunteer Firefighter.

JT and Frank hired Chad Reese as their chef in 2012.  Chad had been cooking for 24 years, and left his previous Chef position to join the Sweet Briar team.  Along with this job change, came opportunity, hard work, adventure, and a bigger family. Chad gained experience, freedom and his greatest mentor, Frank Talese.

After losing our dear friend Frank in 2017, Chad was honored by the idea of continuing to keep Frank and JT’s dream of Sweet Briar Cafe alive. Chad and his wife, Kristen, took ownership of Sweet Briar in March of 2019.

They remain committed to keep the values of: community, generosity and “doing better” running through the cafe and the Ambler community everyday.  Chad and Kristen remain committed donors to the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls’ Club, The Kelly Ann Dolan Foundation, The Ambler Borough Police Department, The Wissahickon Fire Company and the many local schools, sports & clubs within the Ambler community.
